FAMILY TO HAVE DOUBLE FUNERAL.
Providence, Rhode Island Journal, March 19th.
A double funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from the Asbury Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church, North Main Street, for Sarah A. (Machon) GLOVER of 3 Eighth St., who died March 17, and for James F. STEVENSON, her son-in-law, who died yesterday at the Rhode Island Hospital of double pneumonia.
Mrs. GLOVER, who made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. STEPHENSON, became suddenly ill on March 6 and died 10 days later of heart trouble. Mr. STEVENSON's illness developed suddenly the day following Mrs. GLOVER's attack. Both will be buried in the North Burial Grounds.
Mrs. GLOVER was born at Murray Harbour, Prince Edward Island, and came to this city about 46 years ago. At that time she was married in the Asbury Memorial M. E. Church, of which she was a member. Her husband died several years ago, and since then she had been making her home with her daughters. She also was an active member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
She is survived by two sons, John E. and Robert H., of Providence; four daughters, Miss Mabel GLOVER of Boston and Mrs. William J. HOPKINS, Mrs. James F. STEVENSON and Mrs. Frank SPINELLA of Providence; three brothers, Thomas of Cranston, Peter of East Providence, and Joseph MACHON of Auburn; four sisters Mrs. Mary E. STUTTARD of Providence, Mrs. Thomas BOOTH of Tyngboro, Mass., Mrs. William BURNS of Stellarton, N. S., and Mrs. David BROOKS of Prince Edward Island, and seven grandchildren.
Mr. STEVENSON was born in this city, the son of James and Elizabeth STEVENSON, and had been employed for the past 20 years at the Akerman Standards Company. He had many friends in musical circles here, having played the drum in several local orchestras. He was a member of Moshassuck Council, Royal Arcanum.
Besides his parents, Mr. STEVENSON is survived by his wife, Anna Edna; a daughter, Edna Hope, and three sisters, Mrs. William ST. GERMAINE, Mrs. Ernest RIDDENADALE and Miss Elsie STEVENSON of Providence.
