  	An old stone records the death of John, but other old stones are gone. A large granite memorial stone was erected in the cemetery, apparently by one or more of the children of John and Mary. It is dedicated to John and Mary, and to George and Alice. It also lists Eliza HUDSON, a daughter of John and Mary, who died in 1904 at the age of 61 years. Memorial Inscription: In memory of John NORSWORTHY, died 18 October 1865, aged 57 years 2 months and 10 days. The granite stone has the following inscription on two sides: Father Mother. John NORSWORTHY died Oct. 18, 1865 aged 57 years; Mary COUNTER his wife died Jany. 18, 1901 aged 92 years. Natives of Devonshire, England came to Canada in the year of 1852. Eliza HUDSON, daughter of John and Mary NORSWORTHY, died Dec. 19, 1904, aged 61 years. Grandfather Grandmother. George COUNTER died in the year 1862 aged 81 years. Alice his wife died in the year 1854 aged 70 years. Natives of Devonshire, England came to Canada in the year 1850.

  	John NOSWORTHY, of South Brent, and Anne BRINNING, Sojourner, married on 27 June 1805 in Buckfastleigh. (Parish Register) [In spite of the fact that John NOSWORTHY was from the parish of South Brent when he married, it is still believed that he was the son of William and Ann NOSWORTHY, and born in Widecombe in the Moor. This is based on the 1851 & 1861 censuses; on his age at burial which was 84 in 1862, which supports a birth around 1778; and on the historical documentation of his son, who immigrated to Canada in 1852, which provides further support for this claim.
