    • (Living names removed) Funeral: Mr. John ROBERTS, of 9 Stoneleigh Court, College Way, Taunton, died at St. Margaret's Somerset Hospice on April 1. He was 60. The funeral was held at Taunton Deane Crematorium on April 7 and the Rev. Mark Bond officiated. Many relatives and friends attended the service. Unable to attend were Mrs. L. NOSWORTHY (mother); (brothers-in-law and sisters), in Canada, and (niece).

      The funeral arrangements were by E. White and Son (Taunton) Ltd, 138/139 East Reach, Taunton.

      Madeline and her son wish to thank everyone who attended the funeral service, sent cards and messages of sympathy and for all the beautiful floral tributes received.

      John was cremated at Taunton Crematorium, Wellington Rd., Taunton, April 7, 1992; his remains are there.

      The Taunton Deane Crematorium, Book of Remembrance, online states: "ROBERTS, Grenville John; 1st April. Born 1931 - Died 1992. Peace after pain; He lived for those he loved, And those he loved - remember." Cremated remains buried in the Garden of Rest, Area A April 1982. (Cemetery records)

    • METHODIST WEDDING
      The wedding took place at the Victoria Methodist Church, Taunton, on Saturday, of Mr. Grenville John ROBERTS, of 7 Bowood-road, Obridge, Taunton, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack ROBERTS, of Newton Abbot, and Miss Madeline Mary Anita OWEN, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. OWEN, of 53 Wordsworth Drive, Taunton.

      The service was conducted by the Rev. Vincent Bates and Miss Valerie Couch was the organist. Given away by her father, the bride wore an ankle-length gown of white net over taffeta with a veil held in place by a pearl and net coronet. She carried red carnations. The bridemaids, Miss Wendy JEFFEREYS (bride's cousin) and Miss Jaqueline Hannon (bride's friend), wore ankle length gowns of silver threaded net over pale green taffeta with muffs and headdresses to match. The bridegroom gave them gold crosses and chains. Mr. Raymond OWEN, bride's brother, was best man.

      The reception at the Riverside Rooms was attended by about 50 guests, after which the couple left for a honeymoon in Margate. The bride's going-away outfit was a royal blue coat with natural coloured accessories.
