  	Death registration states she died at Longlands, age 68; her daughter, Mary SARGENT was in attendance.
  Notes	Mary's maiden name might possibly be HOSKING. Her name at her marriage to William RICKARD was COOK. On 12 September 1875, a Mary Ann SKELTON married Joseph COOK. The marriage document read, "Joseph COOK, age 44, Widower, Labourer, residing at St. Stephens, son of William COOK, Labourer; married Mary Ann SKELTON, age 33, Widow, residing at St. Stephens, daughter of Henry HOSKING, Labourer. Married after Banns on 12 September 1875 at parish church of St. Stephens by Saltash, Cornwall. Both signed. Witnessed by John MARTIN and the mark of Eliza MARTIN." In 1881 she was living with her husband, Joseph COOK, and daughters Bessie, age 12, Annie, age 4, Josephine, age 2, and Florence, age 0. Bessie was presumably Joseph's daughter from his previous marriage. This census states Mary was born in South Petherin which may be an error as all others state she was born in St. Stephens. In 1887, Joseph COOK died; and in 1891 Mary COOK can be found living as a widow with her daughters. Mary married a SARGENT, and a Mary SARGENT was present at Mary Ann RICKARD's death. A search for a marriage between a Mary Ann HOSKING and a SKELTON has not yet been found but in the 1871 census a Mary Ann SKELETON, Widow, age 24, albeit born Lauceston, Cornwall, can be found as a servant in a BRAY home, indicating she might have been married for just a short time before her husband passed away. To date she has not been found in a HOSKING family with a father, Henry. (Anne Brooks) [3, 4]
