- (Medical):David had been suffering from gangrene in his foot and the doctor had come to see him numerous times in late December and January. Eventually he was sent to hospital and his leg was amputated just below the knee. While the surgery was successful, he died at the end of January. His son Ray said that he was a healthy, strong man and if he had attended to this more quickly, he would not have died. [9]
