The adopted daughter, Elizabeth, was Elizabeth Osborn East, who was first adopted by John and Jane Montgomery. (Source: Personal communication from Montgomery descendant). Elizabeth can be found in the 1871 census, age 3, living in the Montgomery home. After Jane's death, Elizabeth was present in the home of John and Margaret Norsworthy, age 13, in the 1881 census. She eventually married Thomas Powell.
