Crispin Cemetery: About a mile south of the town (Hanover), the road passes through a section made sacred to all as the last resting place of its citizens. On the west side it is known as Crispin's Cemetery and on the east side its called the new cemetery. Hanover's first cemetery was the little plot of ground given by Christian Hassenjager to be used for this purpose. That small plot may have been in the vicinity of the fairgrounds. There was an earlier cemetery than this about two miles east of the village and it was always called Switzer's graveyard. Since it was too far for some residents, a four acre parcel was purchased from John CRISPIN at $40. an acre.
    Notes
    • From the 1909 biography: "Samuel married, and located at the town of Hanover, Ontario. His family comprised three daughters, and one son. Samuel died some years ago. The son also died after his father. He had married and left one child". [6]
