- Walter was the 4th child of Thomas and Elizabeth PIKE, nee CHISLETT. The family came to Rhode Island from England about 1899. There were only two boys in the family, Walter and William (Bill), and they were born in Trowbridge. Bill died in 1959. (Stuttart) [There were actually three boys born into this family as there was a George H. present in the 1881 census.]
