    Notes
    • Margaret was the daughter of John SYMONDS ( -1877) and Catherine Louisa FIELD (22 April 1851 - July 1897), who most likely married in 1875 at St. Leonards, Shoreditch, Middlesex, England. Margaret's father died in 1877 in Brighton, after being gored by an ox. Catherine Louisa FIELD was the daughter of Mortimer FIELD and Anne KEMP.

"After the death of her father at the age of one year, Margaret and her mother went to live with her maternal grandparents, Mortimer and Ann FIELD. They were relatively wealthy and owned a photo studio at 80 Humberstone Road, Leicester in London. Living with the Fields, Lucy got a good education. After this she took a position as a governess for the children of wealthy parents, one of which brought Lucy with them to Binscarth, Manitoba while visting in 1896. It was here she met Alex PASH. Upon her return to England her mother died in 1897 and her grandmother in 1900. For over nine years Lucy corresponded in writing with Alex in Binscarth. Then on 2 July 1906 Margaret Lucy arrived by train into Binscarth, Manitoba to marry her dark haired Frenchman that afternoon. Lucy died December 15, 1915 of breast cancer at the age of thirty-nine leaving Alex to raise six small children under the age of eight. Alex died at the age of 86 and was buried next to his wife in 1963". (Excerpts from an original article written by a living descendant). [1]
