11240 Ralph was the son of Colonel Ralph Basnett Rastall WILLIAMSON whose obituary read:

Shaldon: The death has occurred at his residence, the Vicarage, of Lieut. Colonel R. B. R. WILLIAMSON, late of the 1st Oxford Light Infantry (late 43rd Regiment). The deceased officer had been in failing health for about twelve months, death resulting from heart failure, the result of asthma. Colonel WILLIAMSON, who was 67 years of age, was a keen sportsman, and while in India held the rifle shooting championship for three years. He saw active service in Burma. For nearly 20 years he has resided at Shaldon, where he was highly respected. He leaves a widow, three daughters, and two sons to mourn their loss. The Devon and Exeter Gazette, Friday, July 18th, 1913.

"Col. Ralph's father was Ralph John Thomas WILLIAMSON born 26th November 1807 in Liverpool who died in Lancashire in 1886. His mother was Catherine LANE born in London in 1816 who died, also in Lancashire, in December 1862. They had 5 children and it is possible they married in the East Indies where their first child was born".
